Copy of Jill Fisher's Campaign Announcement

I consider it an honor to run for Rome City Commissioner.  I moved to Rome 23 years ago with my husband Mark who started his dentistry practice.  We planted roots and raised our family here.  Investing in this community in addition to raising my family was and is a top priority.  I volunteered within Rome City Schools and several non-profits while supporting the bookkeeping for Fisher Family and Cosmetic Dentistry and raising our three children. Currently, I am a member of the Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia Board, Rome Rotary, the Congregational Life Ministry Team of First Presbyterian Church, Leadership Rome, and the Board Chair of Good Neighbor Ministries for the past 9 years. In addition, I currently hold a seat on the Rome City School Board. This year completes my second four-year term and I led the school board as Vice Chair, Board Chair, and as a District Director for the 21 school systems in the northwest region for the Georgia School Board Association. I love Rome City Schools and the opportunities it provides for our youth through education, but now I would like to serve the community in a different capacity.  My experience as a school board member gives me a great appreciation for how elected boards function. My years of volunteering and the leadership positions I held reflect my passion for this community.  My hard work, common sense, fiscal responsibility, effective communication, and collaboration abilities will allow me to continue to make a positive difference in this community. I am running for Rome City Commissioner because I love this community, and I want everyone to feel as proud of our community as I do.

Please vote for Jill Fisher on November 4.
